Not too many people know this but there are two worlds to naturopathic medicine. There are actual medical schools that you do have to jump hurdles to get into- prerequisites and you must have a BS degree like any other medical school. You do go through a riguous interviewing process and the first two years they make it impossible (so to weed people out)- just like medical school. You do dissections of cadavers, you have to pass boards to get into clinical and you do have to do interships and research along with trying to learn the natural therapies. When you graduate you have to pass a state board exam that is equivalent to the USMLE to get licensure. Just like MDs. The other naturopaths go through correspondence school and get a diploma. They have been trying to eliminate the medical school naturopaths because they cannot sit for the Board Exams forlicensure.
That is the conflict you see when searching on the internet because both have their own organizations and have their own spin.
I know this because I have been to both types of medical schools and I been in this world of medicine and seen it all. Hope this helps.
