i understand your situation. i was diagnois 10ys ago.. and they told me to after my last child it was becasue of weight gain and severe stress life. i lost some of the weight but rasing 4 kids husband and working ..lets see less stress, not an option. i lost most of my vision which i might have been able to keep if i had opt for the shunt yrs ago. i have been through 14 taps. 3 eye surgeries and more meds than u can imagine. even experimental ones. my case was so bad i was not listed in any medical text books. after i got the shunt in april this yr. i wont get my vision back but the headaches are just abut gone. mine was inserted on the left side of my brain. and a week afterwards i was ready to go back to work. i did lose weight from a 22 to a 12.. so that helps to. i dont know your level of pain but i wont lie i was suicidal. the one i have is the plastic adj kind, the magnetic one, i declined becasue it is not fully 100% and has to be adj anytime u have a mri done or cat scan or near anything magnetic.. so far so good.. hope this helps
