Posted by marie on 10/27/02 at 07:48 PMI have been diagnoised for 2+ years after many lumber punctures I had a lumber peritoneal shunt placed 11-01 that lasted 2 months and had it redone 5-02. It is not working no and was a 6 day hospital stay both times due to low pressure headaches. I would never go through this again. I would have a lumbar puncture monthly befor I would have another shunt placed. I am not over weight and they do not know why I have this condition. Good Luck
