My wife has been detected Pseudo tumor cerebri having pressure of 37.She was initially complaining of half head (left side) paining with water discharge from one eye(left side).We got her eyes checked and the doctor advised for CT Scan.The Scan report was normal.
Thereafter on MRI the observation was \"Nonvisualised right transverse sinus,sigmoid sinus and right internal jugular vein\".Before starting Lumber puncture the doctor advised for a second opinion.The doctor suspected Thrombosis however it was ruled out on getting the MRI done for the second time.
She has got two Lumber puncture done and her pressure reduced to 35 on first and 30 on second Lumber puncture respectively.Right now the doctor is concentrating on bringing down the pressure within the range i.e 18-20.She is being given Diamor and Methycobol tablets with Dynapar tablets.
She has gained weight in the last one year.She is 33 years old and we are blessed with two children.
Kindly advice whether getting Lumber puncture done periodically is the only remedy or there is any other treatment by which she can be permanenetly cured.Whether it is possible that the right transverse sinus is absent from birth as was reported in the first MRI Report.
Her Blood pressure is currently 160/100.She has already gone through 6 Lumber punctures and at one point the pressure had increased by 2 points i.e from 20 to 22.
Please advice on the above facts, alternative line of treatment. With Warm Regards,
