Developed symptoms that looked like migraines, then like meningitis without fever. Drs. are now guessing pseudo-tumor cerebri and have installed a lumbar shunt. Results are fair; they say give it a couple weeks. Why would the brain think there is a tumor when there is not? What should we read to become informed re. this dx.? How can we get a dx. pinned down, and thereby go about proper treatment? Ron is living a miserable life for a 12 yr. old. Do we really just have to sit and wait for mor symptoms to surface, and keep putting band-aids on them? Ron now has 2 shunts; one in his head and one on his spine. Isn't there a better solution???
