Posted by carrie on 01/11/06 at 06:42 AMI tried 3 different times to come off Effexor. I was prescribed the drug for menopause symptoms/depression. I know the doctor had no clue as to how physically addictive this drug was. Each time I tried to get off Effexor I did it slowly, over several months. As soon as I reached 37.5mg. the \"brain shivers\" and side effects were more than I could tollerate. I always called my doctor and increased the dosage. I felt it was better than going through such horrible \"withdrawl.\" I am now 5 days with no Effexor in my system and I am suffering horribly. I am willing to do whatever to join a class action suit. Is there anything out there that supports what we all are going through?
