Posted by Robin on 06/24/04 at 08:15 PMKristina, I am finally off the drug. I also was on it for 2 yrs. Over a two month period-I weaned off. I experienced terrible side effects that made me so angry that Effexor is even prescribed! Anyway-when I finally had stop taking the drug-I was very ill. My Doc gave me a very low dose of Xanax and a drug for naseua. After 2 weeks, I am feeling better. I do not need the Xanax (which helped with the nerve zaps) and I rarely throw up. I am back on the road to feeling better. I also gained 50 lbs. Not a good drug. I have read many Effexor horror stories-but I do connect with yours the best. I hope that you will be feeling better soon-take care. Robin
