effexor not perfect
Posted by mary on 06/22/04 at 05:21 PMI have been on Effexor for three years at 225 mg per day. I was in severe depression (the second in my life) and had tried Celexa and Paxil, to no avail. My psychiatrist diagnosed no main \"issues\" in my life, just the pre-dispostion as depression and anxiety is well documented in my family. After one week on Effexor the \"cloud\" lifted and I felt great. I do sweet terribly and have gained 25 pounds. I jog, exercise and eat well. I have accepted this, as well as my husband, as the price of \"clear thinking.\" I now actually can sleep the night before I have to fly anywhere and can even eat on the plane. I don\'t love flying but can think rationally about my fear! Good Luck
