i see this message was written in 09/2004, so i do not know if u still need any info. on this or not. i completely understand about ur symptoms, and not being able to explain it to family and friends. i have been on effexor for almost 5 years. i always heard that it was habit forming, but i never knew the horrific side effects of the withdrawls. i ran ot of my prescription and did not get another one. i always hated taking medication everyday, and i saw the chance to stop when my prescript. ran out. i had no idea what i was in for. i literally thought i had some life threatening disease. i hate this drug, it will have u so confused. i feel like i have to have it to keep from going crazy, but then again i know it\'s not good for me. i will be going to the doctor tomorrow to see what to do. if you want, i will keep u informed. -tina
