I have been on Effexor for 6months. I was only mildly anxious about selling my home and where I was going to relocate. I was never told there were any problems with addiction. The only side effect mentioned when I asked was nausea was common..I have been having high blood pressure and weight gain..I want to go off because of the blood pressure. I am a nurse and know not to stop suddenly, so I started to taper. After going only 2days without the Effexor XR 75mg. I began to feel very anxious, blurry vision, dizziness and the swishing in my head. I was afraid I have an aneurysm or something. I could not sleep well. I decided to try to take another Effexor and wow no more symptoms..I knew this was a problem with physiological addiction. So next I went to the web..WELL lots of problems. I am so angry and frightened. This is horrible. You hear nothing about this in the news and MD\'s are not educating the public. Wyeth-Aryst is making a killing..Thank you for the info..Do you think the lamectal helped get off? Heard anything about Prozac helping...I want off for good. No more meds. Was there any permanent liver damage?
