getting off this stuff is real trippy! been on it for 2-3 years 300mg/day. ran out last tuesday and thought no more. doc wanted to wean me off slowly after june 05, but enough is enough. symptoms? lightheaded, giddy, difficult to change visual focus quickly, tinnitus worse, hot/cold sweats, very sleepy all the time (although this is contributed to by the aspirin/codeine headache tabs), bones and joints ache (magnesiun tabs help with this), hungry, very thirsty a lot. and the dreams!!! so vivid. repeats from childhood even but with so much, much more intensity (i\'m 51 y.o) and repeated nightly. detail is staggering!!! only been 4 days off it so far and it only has to get better, but i feel it will be a long row to hoe. wife wants me to go back on it or see the doc, but never ever again will i take effexor or similar. strangely enough i actually feel more like i reckon i should in my own mind - it\'s the physical effects that take some tossing. things can only get so much better from here on.

to all you getting off this stuff - good luck! persevere and be patient and gentle with yourself. don\'t push it, if you are incapable of doing something then say so (today even mundane decisions were beyond me). you just need to understand that you will be less stressed without guilt and living within your current capabilities.

again good luck to you
