Re: Re: Effexor Withdrawal

I stopped taking Effexor last Saturday 75mgs. I was taking 150 for serveral months and went as high as 225, I am not sure if TMJ or the increased dosage caused my temples to feel as though they were in a vice but I reverted to the 150mg. I found that when I changed medications from Paxil to zoloft I taking xanax until I transfered over extremely helpful. That was a few years ago but the xanax definitely cut the edge off. I don\'t think the doctors like to prescribe it though, because it is addictive. I never had a problem with it. I knew the Effexor was not really working so I stopped cold turkey again, I didn\'t want to spend the copay knowing that I was going to see a new Pdoc instead of GP and I would probably try another med. I too experience the noise when my eyes moved. I also felt as though I was going to tip over almost vertigo in feeling. I also felt very inattentive and very giggly sometimes. Definitely racey thoughts constant jabber a little too loud. After an hour and half of consultation my doctor prescribed Lamictal. Since the SSRI\'s weren\'t doing it for the anxiet so the new diagnosis is dysphoria I hope it works. Today I felt like I was going to come out of my skin. I am lashing out at everyone around me and since it is the holiday weekend I could not get in touch with the Pdoc. I asked a friend who is not an MD but a social worker around alot of people who do and said taking the effexor can cause a relaxing response that I was looking for from the xanax. So I took it and I feel much better. It could be placebo effect since I thought it takes time for it to build back up. However I feel like I had a glass of wine and I had nothing to drink. So placebo or not I don\'t feel like I am going to jump out of my skin.

I hope someone finds this helpful.
