Re: Effexor Withdrawal

Hello to Lisa, and everyone else that reads these posts. I also am very happy to have came across this web site. Like all of you, I thought I was going crazy, (and still would think so if it wasn\'t for all of you great people!) I have been on a lot of different meds for anxiety and depression for a long time. I started out with lorazepam and trazodone, moved to imipramine, then pazil, and finally ended up on effexor. After almost a yaer on effexor, I saw my regular Dr. and told him I thought the side effects of effexor were worse than the sympyoms of depression. I was only on 75mg. but he told me to drop to 37.5mg. and he made an appt. with a phyce. in a month. My appt is a week and a half away now, and instead of staying on the 37.5mg. I quit taking effexor completely about a week ago. Since then, I have felt the effects most of you have felt. Mood swings, extreme tiredness, painful muscles &/or joints, (almost to the point of being unbearable), and those dreaded \"head rushes\" and \"brain jolts\". I have become very quick tempred, and angry with the smallest of actions. I don\'t want to be with other people too long, fearing I might start an arguement, or worse. I have no motivation or energy to do even the simplest of tasks. It is extremely difficult to go to work and be at all productive. All I want to do is sleep, and when I do, I experince wierd dreams and broken sleep. I still take lorazepam, and it seems to relieve the withdrawl symptoms somewhat, but not enough. I am hoping my appt with the phychiracrist will show me a way out of this. I would rather deal with my original depression than what I\'m feeling now. I want to wish all of you who read these posts the best of luck, and I am looking forward to reading how you all are getting along! Beast of luck to you all, and may God bless!!
