Re: Effexor Withdrawal

I am really glad I found this website. I was on Effexor XP for 4 years for depression. At first it seemed to help, but a year ago I began to feel it was making me crazy, so I decided to get off the med. For about a year I have tried several times to get off Effexor and always give in because the withdrawal symptoms are so bad. Finally, I now have 6 days with no Effexor. But I am still so sick. I feel like me brain and body is permanently damaged from this drug. My doctor and my pharmacist told me I feel bad because I need to be on it. The brain \"zaps\" are the worst along with the lack of energy, nausea, dizziness, high blood pressure, weight gain, eyesight problems...How can one drug cause so many side effects. I will never, never, never take an antidepressant again. Thanks to all of you for sharing as I was afraid something awful had really happened permanently to my brain. Since others are having the same withdrawal symptoms, I feel like maybe I will get through this.
