Nan: I\'m 48 and I only started getting hot flashes, and intenses copious sweating, when I started getting off the effexor--from 75mg to 0mg in 24 hour flat. I know, I\'m an idiot, I went cold turkey 2 weeks ago, but I\'m feeling the effects less and less every day, so, you hang in there, girl! Actually, the dreams are actually pretty interesting. I consider them the silver lining here. At this point, I really don\'t trust the pharmaceutical industry. I trust the people on this websire a heckuva lot more. I feel like we\'re the unpaid guinea pigs for the industry. And your forgetfulness---that\'s all part of being 50 and in the pause or in the peri. As Malcom Cowley said: \"They tell me whenyou get older you lose your mind. What they don\'t tell you is you won\'t miss it very much.\"
