Re: Effexor Withdrawal = Depression and Anxiety!!

I was also concerned after ceasing to use Effexor (37.5 mg 3x/day for one month) that the depression and anxiety were not the effects of withdrawal but my \"natural mental state.\" The overwhelming desire to hide in my home and disconnect my phone completely subsided, as did the typical physical side effects, in about 2 1/2 weeks time. Though each person is different, it can only help if one were to trust that the depression is part of the withdrawal, and not their own baseline; whether or not this is true, one doesn\'t need additional anxiety while dealing with horrifying physical symptoms. If after the physical symptoms have completely subsided one\'s depression and anxiety linger, then medication (NOT EFFEXOR, though) could be considered. Good luck! I have faith that we can all become healthy, whatever the medication or lack of medication we find necessary.
