I was prescribed Effexor to combat daily migraines during a period of heavy stress last year. It has been the miracle drug for me in relieving that Hell. But now that I am trying to get off Effexor, I am going insane. I had mild depression several years ago and took Prozac, but haven\'t needed meds for depression since then. Now that I am reducing my daily dose (150 mg) to 75 mg every other day, those old depressive feelings have returned. I am also experiencing vertigo, brain zaps, dizziness, body shocks, wild dreams lasting all night, insomnia, ear crunching noises, and mood swings. All this for reducing the drug by half, every other day!! I can\'t fathom how bad it will be when I am down to 37.5 mg!I I wonder if Wellbutrin (which many people seem to have taken after Effexor) will be a good alternative for me to use as migraine prevention. Life is to short to be dealing with all this withdrawal bullshit!!
