Hi Christopher- I\'m sorry you are not feeling well either. All the information I\'ve seen state that MAOIs should not be started until atleast 1 week after stopping the Effexor due to the possibility of increased side effects or other reactions. Look it up on the internet and perhaps consult someone else as well. No harm in that! I would HIGHLY recommend not doing this by yourself as it can be overwhelming as I think you know now. I am coming to realize that the mood swings are definately a side effect of the withdrawal and they BITE BIG TIME! Also, I went to the ER because I thought I might be doing permanent damage to my body and brain. What the hell are these \"brain Zaps\" anyway? Everyone here seems to speak of them but are they mini seizures or what? Anyway, I found out that I was very dehydrated at the ER. Just make sure that you are safe while you go through this and God Bless. Shauna
