For me the witdrawals lasted until I went to the Dr. and begged for a renewal of effexor RX. He acted as if I was exaggerating the symptoms, but was happy to take my money for the session and glad to get me back on the drug.(same as my old coke dealer would have been) All I had taken to try to get through it was valium to help me stay in bed w/ice on my head, which was the only time I felt OK. The funny thing is I initially went to this Dr. for a referral to a 28 day drug rehab to get off cocaine, alcohol and some various opiates. The withdrawal from all that stuff only lasted about 7 days. When I got home and went to Dr. he decided I needed anti depression med to keep me from going back to drugs, but I didn\'t feel depressed. The pharmacist said withdrawal from effexor would be \"at least weeks\" I\'ve talked to some people who say a year later they have still some symptoms. I just wonder if the long term effects of this powerful drug are better or worse for me than the illegal stuff, since they obviously don\'t know how MUCH it affects our brains. There is a class action lawsiut in the works against Wyeth. Look into it.
