Today is day 9 after quitting Effexor. I had taken the medicine 150mg for 4 months. (37.5 x 4). I spent a month after that quitting the damned thing. Reducing one 37.5mg cap every week. Withdrawing from the last capsule really got to me. My withdrawal symptoms after the last cap were:
1) Dizziness 2) Nausea 3) Migraine Like Auras and Painful Headaches 4) Night Sweats 5) Fatigue 6) A certain dullness in the head 7) Every time I laughed it felt very heavy in the back of the head
I am left with 3) and 6) right now.
Working out during withdrawal really helped. Although the last week has been brutal.
I am kind of proud that I got through the first week it but I really do not know how. I have been taking a vitamin B-Complex. Maybe that has helped.
I was also taking 0.5 mg of Risdone (Risperidone) which I quit before stopping the Effexor. I continue to take 1.5mg of Klonopin everyday. I will attempt to quit the Klonopin once I have dealt with the withdrawal from the Effexor.
Is there an official withdrawal period from Effexor as far as symptoms go? (It took me only 5 days to quit smoking)
