I posted the steps above and have one warning to add that I did not know about until after I posted it.

When using Pseudephed, even as stated on the box, it can raise your blood pressure. If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or just want to be safe, please consult a doctor before using Pseudephed.

I used Pseudephed for two full months so it raised my blood pressure significantly. Since my blood pressure is always on the lower side it didn’t bother me to have it raised, but when I tried to stop taking pseudephed my blood pressure lowered so much I would faint. I had to wean myself off of it for a full month. It was still totally worth it to me since it was the only way I could get off Effexor.
