I am so glad to have found this web-site. I have been taking antidepressants for the past 5 years(2 years on paxil and 3 years on effexor). I am having some bad withdrawal effects...especially my heart rate. My GP has prescribed a low dose beta blocker to regulate my heart rate. My heart became erratic about 5 days after complete withdrawal. I had tapered down to 75mg every 3 days. I did this dose for about 2 months and then cold turkeyed. I still get some dizzy spells and brain zaps. I can\'t wait to feel \"real\" again. The effexor helped my depression, but I feel that it also numbed me to some extent(I didn\'t even cry at my grandmother\'s funeral). I am a singer and artist and effexor numbed my desire to perform. I will let you know how I feel in a couple of weeks. My doctor does not believe that what I am feeling is due to withdrawal.....but I feel 100% that effexor is responsible for all of these symptoms. I wish all of you luck on your withdrawal. Donna
