Posted by Mercedita on 01/24/06 at 10:12 AMI used Effexor for several years with terrible side effects (suicidal as well as extreme anger). Did not stop due to severe withdrawl symptoms. Eventually, was able to stop taking drug by tapering dosage, however could not avoid withdrawl episode that landed me in hospital for 4 days. For the past 2 years my therapist prescribed another drug (Trileptal) with excellent results.
