Hi all,
I am also in the middle of trying to get off effexor, for the second time, last year I tried and was soooo ill that eventually had to go back on it otherwise I would have lost my job.
This time round, so far so good (touch wood...) in 2 weeks I have made it from 75mg to 37.5mg with some nausea, dizziness so bad I couldn\'t walk, some horrific dreams and the other usuals nasties we all know.
What I wanted to report is that aside from gaining 30lbs in 2 years, for the last 6 months I have had some serious gyno problems, my doctor did tests for every STD going and anything else she could think of(to my horror) and eventually came up with the answer that it was the effexor - how scary is that??? at this moment we have idea how much damage has been done (infertile?)
Wyeth should be sued, banned, closed down etc how in god\'s name could this drug get on the market?? there are so many terrible things caused by this, I read about other people becoming diabetic, high blood presure, deteriorated vision, this is one big scandal!
I wish everyone so much luck in their battle to get off this poison, don\'t let it make you crazy, hang in there, be brave, don\'t let Wyeth win.
By the way, I am english, but living in Holland, so Effexor is also doing its damage across Europe!
