Posted by Cecelia on 01/27/05 at 11:02 AMI had a root canal in 1983 and a gold crown was placed on top of it. Around 1996, I was told that one of the nerves had not been deadened. As a result I am receiving flare ups of an abcess. I have had my current abcess for 1 year with no pain. I can tell that food is getting underneath the tooth because it seems as if the crown has slid a little. I\'m thinking of having the tooth abstracted because I believe it causes me earaches, headaches, and now I have a strained muscle in my eye. Is all of this possible from an abcess or am I misdiagnosing my eye pain?
