USP recently shared with Schwarz Pharma a drug product quality report in which a patient noticed that a Levbid® (hyoscyamine sulfate) extended-release tablet had been excreted intact. The manufacturer explained that the inactive ingredients in the Extended-Release Mechanism of Levbid may not completely disintegrate and could therefore be excreted by certain patients. Schwarz Pharma is now alerting patients to this phenomenon via the package insert in the \"Information for Patients\" section. It states \"Tablets may not completely disintegrate and may be excreted by some patients.\"
