Posted by betty on 07/24/04 at 05:52 PMI\'ve recently started taking levbid 2x a day. prior to this I had colon/rectal surgery, I had a villious adenoma and 12\" of colon removed,everything benign. my symptoms came back approx. 7 months after surgery..my surgeon diagnosed me with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) I was told to eat fiber/ flax seeds/ etc....this made things worse. I was in the bathroom at least once an hour passing nothing but mucuos and sludge. My life revolved around haveing access to a bathroom. My daughter saw how disabling this was and persuaded me to go to Temple University In Philadelphia. After numerous tests, some not so pleasant the doctor there confirmed the diagnosis. IBS w/ diarreaha. I now take levbid 2x a day and Imodium if needed and I feel pretty good. My attacks have gone from 4 days of not leaving my house to an attack lasting a few hours. good luck to you
