My name is Dawn, and I was put on topamax in Sept for my migraines. The dose was started at 25 mg once a day at bedtime. On the third morning, I was on my way to work and my face started to feel numb. Then, later at work, my right arm pulled up by itself, and I started having head tremors. This was on a Wed. I went to the ER, and they though it might be a reaction to the topamax, so I stopped taking it. I went for a follow up appt. with my neuro on that Fri, and while I was waiting for my husband to schedule an MRI appt, I went into a full body tremor. I was banging my head hard against the wall, and then I finally fell out of the chair I was sitting in. I never lost consciousness though, so they said it wasn\'t a seizure. They took me back to the hospital, and admitted me to ICU overnight. By Saturday, the tremors had stopped, so it seemed to make sense that it was the topamax, and the tremors had stopped because the medicine was out of my body. Then,on Jan 10 of this year, the full body tremors came back, and have been pretty consistent since. I cannot work, drive, or do much of anything, because exertion seems to make the tremors worse. I also stutter when the tremors are bad. Are you still taking topamax? Have you had any experiences like mine? Please write me, I would love to find out if someone else is going through what I am.
