Wes, I found the information on the web under \"topamax for alcohol cravings\" and the reason I did that was because my doctor prescribed topamax for me origanally for my headaches. But after a week of taking 50mg a day I noticed my desire to drink was completly gone! And believe me, I was drinking alot to the point that I felt that I had no control. So, I wanted to investigate it more and found this info out on the web. When going back to my doctor for my two week check up, I shared this information with her as when I went to her the first time also told her of my concern with drinking (but at that time she only gave me the med for headache) or so I thought! She had heard of topamax also being used for this purpose. I have been on for three weeks now. The only side effects were for the first 4 days of being tired. I have not had ANY desire to drink. AMAZING, A MIRICLE! Let me know whats up!
