Second Mirena fitted, collapsed within 7 days, shaking inside, flue symptoms, severe vision disturbance, very very high blood pressure, and I did not connect this with the coil, as I had had no problems first time round, for 9 months, until I ended up in emergency unit of hospital. Then my partner recognised a pattern linked to very light periods, which I had not had with previous Mirena and wondered on the connection. We checked the replacement date and the date I collapsed and the 7 days seemed to be too much of a coincidence. Had the coil removed and its now a week later and all the symptoms appear to have gone. I still say if you have no side effects its the best, but be very wary and dont listen to the doctors when they says its not possible for there to be a connection - if you have unusual symptoms get it out fast.
