I went to my GP two years ago with abdominal cramps and a very bloated tummy, I was told it was IBS.

After two years of suffering \'IBS\' and steady weight gain, loss of libido, I also started to develop a very spotty and hairy chin. At first I just put all this down to the fact that my hormones must be changing as I was 32 and on the downward spiral!

Then I started developing really bad PMT, depression, mood swings, tender boobs - things I had never experienced before.

I started to thing it may be a hormonal imbalance and wondered about the effect the mirena hormones might be having on me. My doctor arranged for bloods to check my hormone levels, results awaited.

I then had a really severe attack of supposed IBS, the pain was terrible. As I had not checked the mirena threads for some time I though I would and was supprised that my cervix was really tender when I touched it. Upon examination my doctor could feel a swelling and is sending me for a scan as he suspects an ovarian cyst.

I don\'t know if this is linked to the mirena but the doctor did say it was all down to hormones and that, combined with the cyst could be the answer to my bloated tummy.

When I read messages on this site I just thought thank God I can put the blame on something!

I intend to have this THING taken out but want to wait until I have my scan and then have it removed. I also want to have my hormones retested after I have had it removed.

Any insight on these problems would be most appreciated.
