Hi, I am 43 years old with one child and had Mirena iud inserted 2/12/2004 for heavy periods, at the same time as Laproscopic excision of moderate to severe endometrosis on bowel and bladder. Since this time, the abdominal pain I was having has lessened considerably but I NOW have aching arms/legs, hot sharp pains in my fingers and toes, hip and shoulder joint pain, pins and needles in my feet and severe lower back pain. These pains all come and go at various times of the day and night, occasionally I even feel normal but when it\'s bad, it\'s BAD!!! Conventional pain killers seem useless! I\'ve recently seen a Neurologist, he concluded that I had no serious neurological disorders but that my nerves were shot, (is it any wonder!!!) he wasn\'t alot of help really! These messages here are comfirming what I was suspecting - that it could be the Mirena. Micklin states that she has had relief from having it removed, I would appreciate hearing from anyone with similar experiences to mine and anyone that can confirm that removal of the Mirena iud would relieve my symptoms?
