I\'m really sorry about your sister. I have had ptc for thirteen years. If your sister is vomiting her pressure is way to high, she needs a theraputic lumbar puncture to take off the extra fluid. The blindness, which you may already know, is caused when the cerebral spinal fluid gets trapped in the optic nerve canals. There is a surgery that can be done to release this pressure and save her eye sight. I have had this sugerey on both eyes. It is called the optic nerve sheeth fenestration. They want me to do the shunt but the jury is still out on that one for me. As for the insurance, a call from her doctor could really help to get that cleared up. Insurance companies are not the doctor and do not get to make the decision concerning dosages. They have tried that one with me before as well. She will be in my prayers.
