you probably have read all the prior posts (i admit, i haven\'t read them all, but i\'m sure you have!) and don\'t need any more explanation as to what ptc is. i\'m just trying to give you some encouragement. i haven\'t had ptc all that long, but i\'m a senior in high school this year, and it\'s really thrown a loop in the life i had mapped out for myself. on the brighter side, i am still functional, as i have not had any visual problems at all. every case of ptc is different, and there is a variety of treatments: medecine, spinal taps (i know, yuck, i hate needles!), and weight loss are the three i\'m trying currently. i\'ve also been into discussions with my doctor about a shunt, but i\'m violently opposed to that. please feel free to e-mail me, and we can talk more about ptc, or whatever! best wishes--ally
