Hello my name is Lisa, and first I would like to extend my sympathy to everyone diagnosed with this horrible disease. I have a few questions about my experiences with Pseudo tumor. Any of your comments or your own experiences would be greatly appreciated. My E-mail address is ....LveisFree@aol.com First let me quickly run through the basics of how all of this came about. My daughter is actually the one diagnosed. I shall be brief with this:) Charity, my daughter, is 21 years old. She is 26 weeks pregnant. This is her second pregnancy.......her first pregnancy was fine, she had no problems. Charity has always been \"thick\" she is not obese, but she is not real thin, about 140Ibs? Charity got a severe headache....which classically was first treated with pain meds, then immetrix. When she was getting no relief her OB doctor called in Neurology. Her optic nerves were enlarged which they immediately admitted her to the hospital. They did all of the MRI and MRA and MRV tests, which showed nothing. The next day they did a lumbar puncture which as you all the know the normal fluid pressure is 140-210.....Charity\'s pressure was measured at 850 the first lumbar puncture......350 the second lumbar puncture. Charity had all of the vision tests, on the field vision test both blind spots were enlarged. Of course they diagnosed her with Pseudo Tumor, put her on Diamox, and bumped her up to a high risk pregnancy doctor, then sent her home. This was 3 weeks ago.......The last 3 weeks she has been back to the doctor 4 times.......she is not keeping any food down, they now have her on ensure. The headache is \"no\" better, her neck and her upper back hurt as much as her head almost. She has not been able to get out of bed (accept to go to the doctor). The doctors do not want to do another lumbar puncture they want to control this with the Diamox. The Diamox seems like it is making her sicker.....It is definitely not helping anything. Last night she was vomiting so hard her nose started poring bright red blood! When I called the doctor they just said, \"It is probably because she is so dehydrated.\" The doctors just seem to say..... stay at home in bed and deal with it. They will give her fluids and they have talked about taking the baby early at 32-34 weeks. I am just getting sooo frustrated with these people!!!! I see my daughter laying here just in horrible pain and so sick.....and also my grandbaby??? Nobody seems to want to do anything???? Is it they can\'t do anything else???? I guess my questions are.......Has anybody ever had no relief with the Diamox? What do the doctors do if this is the case?..... Has anybody had their nose start bleeding like this?..... Has anybody had this during pregnancy, and what was the outcome???.... Has anybody had this kind of frustration with the doctors?.....Can they control this with any kind of pain meds?...... I guess if anybody could write and let me know of your experiences or thoughts it would be helpful to me. Thanks in advance, Lisa
