It started with severe headaches 2 days after starting a very heavy period.tunnel vision then followed.various doctors and hospital visits and a ct scan indicated nothing. When the big black spots in the centre of her vision appeared i was convinced it was not just migraine, which had been continious for 6 weeks and had treat with various migraine medication. Finally one registra found something on the left eye and we then had all the tests imaginable including a field of vision test which confirmed everything my daughter had been telling them for weeks. After the mri scan they did the lumbar puncture which showed a level of 64 instead of 15 this was drained off to 34 with another lumbar puncture to follow no mention of medication as yet.Can i expect this to come right with this or is it going to be a long haul. she is only 12 with a very bright future ahead of her if i can get back in regular school with out having to take a lot of time off for medical tests and procedures.By looking at the number of people who has been misdiagnosed with this problem it doesnt look uncommon for it to happen.I thought it was me being a parnoid mother that knew it wasnt that my daughter just did not want to go to school which was inferred a lot of the time.
