I am so sorry everyone:( I know it is terrible. Just last night I lost 10, yes 10 lashes from my right eye as I attempted to remove eye make-up. Add that to the 6 I lost in the morning and that is 16 for the day! Yes, I count because this has been going on for months. I have, or had, many, very long thick lashes and so I am told, \"I dont notice\". But, there are obvious bald spots and I look funny. What do we do? Someone posted that there are diseases that cause this and she is right on the money. Hypothyroidism is one and I was diagnosed some years ago but told no need for medication and now my lashes are falling out along with my hair and other symptoms. Ladies, go get your thyroid checked. I am going to start medication next week after more testing. There is also alapecia so see a dermatologist. Yes, I have a lot of stress and our lashes falling out is stressing us all the more but I dont think that explains it all. What I would like to know is if any of the products to grow them back work. The conditioners etc, are they good? Someone mentioned a drug that has the side effect of making lashes grow. I forgot the name but if a dr. tries to prescribe something like that ask if it makes your cornea darken because that is another side effect but not a good one. I think everyone likes their eye color to stay put. If anyone has info on the conditioning products let me know. One more thing, DONT USE EYE MAKE_UP REMOVER PERIOD! That is how I lost the 10 lashes last night. Our lashes are falling out for other reasons but even swiping lightly or using high end products our lashes cant handle. Use a very gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or baby shampoo. Also do not use the amplifying, thickening, or curling mascaras. Why? Because they take your lashes and for example to curl them they freeze them in position and our lashes cant deal with that. I found out the hard way. If you insist on using eye make-up remover no oil. That clogs the folicles and prevents regrowth. So I guess that also means no waterproof mascara which you dont want anyways because it is too harsh! If you are lucky and your lashes are not coming out with the bulb on the end but are breaking, it is your make-up. Switch to something gentle with vitamin E and aloe. If you see a bulb on the end like me, it is an underlying issue. Stress can be one but the other 2 things I mentioned are very common causes. So that is the scoop I have.
Best of luck and hopefully we will all have our lashes to bat again!
