Dear Kato,

I got my IUD in April of 07, and my hair is shedding very badly as well. I am a african-american female and have thick, long, wavey hair, but for the last three months my hair has been coming out in patches. My hair is now thin and drying out. The edges of my hair are almost completely gone.

I’m glad that you posted this question on line, it gave me something to consider as to why I may be losing my hair.
