If your wife’s kidneys are failing, the doctor should be discussing the transplant lists with you and dialysis. If this is not taking place, look for a nephrologist or kidney specialist within the HMO for a consult.

Not knowing why your wife’s kidneys are failing, I can only say that there are likely some avenues that haven’t been explored, even with the best care. If you can ask around for other people with similar problems, they might give you a sense of what to look for.
