I have been researching ND programs .. in both ‘camps’ as has been put. I find it very intersting that this profession is sooooo divided and doesnt seem to have their act together… It doesnt say much for a field or profession when there are such opposing sides. It kind of defeats the purpose of trying to establish a TRUE SOUND PROFESSION and Professional Organization.

Its funny how some of you that talk of going to the BIG 4 ND programs have the idea that you can legally practice only if you go to those schools..and that only graduates from those schools are eligible to sit for those exams. Well, i also find it interesting that its those 4 schools who developed their own professional organization, licensing/certifying body, and that this group/associatoin is NOT recognized or actually LICENSED by anyone but the states in which they exist.. and maybe one or two others. That says something to me.

Dont get me wrong, I think that some of the programs that offer Distance Ed. ND programs look pretty shabby too, but there are some that really offer quality stuff and their philosophy seems to be more in line with what a true ND does/thinks and how he/she practices.

The 4 years schools are allopathic in nature just by existing the way they do, and by proporting their respective educational/programatic structures. Isnt the whole point of being an ND to look NOT AT THE MEDICAL/PATHOLOGICAL SIDE OF THE BODY, but at the spiritual and NATURAL side of the Body, Mind and Spirit? I concur that these 4 schools do not do that and that they were started and are perpetuated by a allopathic/pathological approach to “natural medicine.””
