I had gallstone pain from the age of 15 and this led to pancreatitus when I was 20, and had nothing to do with alcohol. I had my gallbladder taken out and stones removed from my bile duct by endoscope. I was in hospital for a week. I don’t think my condition was particularly bad luckily. When I came out I couldn’t touch alcohol for 6 months. I’m recovered now and haven’t had any pain since. Hope your mum’s doing ok.
