You’re right that there is no easy way to become a naturopath, but you imply that home study courses are easy, and there you are incorrect. I have found myself in a similar situation as the woman in the original post. After much research and understanding of the field, I enrolled in Clayton College of Natural Health. There is no reason to be scared of me. I do plan to be a practitioner of “Traditional Naturopathy”. That is, a true naturopath who educates, counsels, and informs people of healthy and natural lifestyles. To help them integrate a wholistic understanding of themselves into their lives. I do not diagnoses, perform minor surgeries, or prescribe medications (or herbs for that matter), nor do I want the training to do these things for that is not what a TRUE naturopath does. Yes, I will be a doctor of Naturopathy, and I will have worked hard and spent many years under the supervision of my advisor to acquire my degree and knowledge. Stephen, if you are a practioner of a four year college of naturopathy, I am not scared of you. Although, I would go to you as a practitioner of allopathic medicine with knowledge of natural health, not as a naturopath.

I think it is important to understand the differences of our degrees and knowledge. They are very different and focus on very different aspects of health and wholeness. There is no reason to be so hostile as to spit and yell obsenities.

Be well,

Erica L Kroll
