The biggest enemy to brain injured children is TIME. Don’t wait for anything. Your odds of success with this sweet little 9 month old will be less likely tomorrow. The rate of brain cell death at this age is unfathomable. Midbrain injuries at this age need neurodevelopmental programming. When this child is older and more complex other options may have more appeal and relevance. PLEASE visit www.iahp.org or email me anytime for information. I have helped many children like this and you are in a wonderful position to be seeking this info now and not when she/he is 3, 4, or 5 or older. My child HAD CP, hemiparesis, and many other silly labels for diseases that are actually symptoms. He doesn’t anymore. And he was profoundly hurt. Go for it. Good luck.
