Hello. I am also very tired when taking the effexor xr. I just started to wean myself this past Friday. So far it hasnt been so bad, but its only been 5 days. I take 25mg 2x a day. I also have gained weight and when i mentioned it to my Dr. she said Effexor does not cause weight gain but it does cause weight loss. All i know is i have steadily gained almost 18 pounds in a little over a year. Its good to see its not just me, although I dont wish weight gain on anyone! I want to work out again and have more energy. Also, I may want to have another child one day. So thats why I decided to stop taking it. Also because I read about the withdrawals and I don’t want to take anything that my body is physically addicted to. I think these Doctors should give more information before prescribing this medication. Good luck to everyone trying to stop!!!!
