I don’t know what kind of help I can be, but my husband is going through these torturous withdrawls right now. It is insane. I really wish we would have done more research instead of just trusting that our Dr. knows best! This is awful. He is on his 4th day cold turkey without it and he is emotional, full of anxiety and keeps saying he feels a surge of what feels like an electrical shock every 30 to 40 seconds. The Dr. NEVER explained any of these kind of side effects. It was bad enough getting started with the nausea and vertigo. Of course he has that now too, but the more troubling is all the intense mood swings. Now our doc is saying maybe he is bi-polar and needs a different type of drug! Oh my gosh we don’t want to take any more chemicals at all!! My husband has been on 150mg for a little less than a year and I’m beginning to believe Effexor is beyond horrible. I want to shout to everyone to never take this garbage, it is incredibly addicting and the side effects are nowhere near worth it!
