I would like to comment on all these posts. I have been on Effexor for 5 years and I was never told about the withdrawals either. I recently told my doctor that I wanted to go off of them and try another drug as Effexor does not come in generic. I went off Effexor and took Trazadone. I was off the Effexor for 2 days when I started the Trazadone. I feel like my head is “swimming”” as you all have called it, my stomach is cramping and feel nauseated, I have headaches, I am jittery, I am also cold, and other sypmtoms among these. I have been off Effexor for 4 days and the sysmptoms are getting worse instead of better. I agree with all of you that we should have been told about these withdrawal symptoms before starting this medicine. Please let me know if any of you have every stopped the withdrawals.
