I was also concerned after ceasing to use Effexor (37.5 mg 3x/day for one month) that the depression and anxiety were not the effects of withdrawal but my “natural mental state.”” The overwhelming desire to hide in my home and disconnect my phone completely subsided, as did the typical physical side effects, in about 2 1/2 weeks time. Though each person is different, it can only help if one were to trust that the depression is part of the withdrawal, and not their own baseline
