I had the same problem! Prednisone did awful things to me though. A combination of Doxipin (60 to 80 mg per day) and Zyrtec worked like a MIRACLE for me!! TOTALLY got rid of them. Get off the Prednisone..its dangerous! Good luck, I totally sypmathize and relate to your problem. Write me if youd like. Im 31 years old and have experienced chronic Uticaria twice now in my life. Its awful but this combination of medications worked like a charm when absolutely NOTHING else did and I tried a lot of medications including Prednisone. Good luck!
