Jeannie,
I have read a lot about various treatments for adhesive capsulitis or frozen shoulder (FS) and have never heard of a therapist pulling on the shoulder blade. Physical therapy for FS can be quite extreme with resulting muscle spasms but, again, I have never heard of range of motion (ROM) being impaired by it.
The home stretching exercises given me by my therapist were more conventional, though they had to be taken to the point of just bearable pain. Four months of home stretching restored full, pain-free ROM. I can e-mail you a copy in text or MS Word-95 format if you would like.
