Another update on my progress with PT alone. My orthopedic surgeon says my progress is great and surgery is out of the picture. I no longer need to follow-up with him.

After a total of 5 unbearably painful PT stretching sessions and 7 weeks of agressive but tolerable home stretching exercises done twice daily, I have regained about 75% of lost ROM and about 87% of normal overall ROM. Rotation motions, primarily internal, continue to be the most painful and restricted motions. I still need to take naproxen for pain control and still awaken periodically during the night – no worse or no better than before therapy. Only one or two sleeping positions prevent shoulder stress. My orthopedist says the pain and restless sleep will cease after all ROM and been completely restored. I’m still skeptical! Later.
